There are a lot of factors influencing your choice, for instance:
- What type of bike do I have?
- What is the value?
- Do I park in the city centre or out in the country side?
- How long will I be gone?
To help you with your choice AXA has classified her locks in safety levels, where level 1 represents the lightest cable lock and level 25 the strongest chain lock with which you can also protect mopeds, scooters and motorcycles.
Locks with safety levels 1 to 6 are ideal if your bicycle is parked for a short period in an area where the chance of theft is small.
Locks with safety level 7 to 10 are classified as good security for your bike and are suitable for bikes which are parked at school or at a crowded place with a lot of public.
Do you live in a busy city or do you need to park your bike for a long time on theft sensitive places? Then choose a lock with safety level 11 to 15, the ultimate protection for your bike! These locks are often approved with a quality label, and are therefore suitable for closing a bike insurance. Note the ART logo, then you are sure this is an approved lock for a bicycle insurance.
